The federal agency that guarantees a portion of home loans to veterans and regulates their distribution. The Department of Veterans Affairs publishes a pamphlet about guaranteed home loans for veterans that's free for the writing. Contact your local VA office for additional information.

The Department of Veterans Affairs also runs a Vendee Financing program, which provides inexpensive financing of VA acquired homes (with little or no down payment required, and a discount for a cash purchase). You need not be a veteran to qualify. Check with the Loan Guarantee Service for more information and current qualifications.
